Son of William Byston Temple and Mary Jane Sutton both buried in Marshall Co, MS. James fought Indians in Texas during the Civil War along with his brother John Dixon Temple. James was a Pvt. in the 2nd Frontier Dist, Eastland Co, TX under Lt. Singleton Gilbert and Maj. G. B. Erath’s Command, Texas State Troops at age 24.
